Unveiling Australia's Best Caravan Camping Spots

Caravan camping in Australia

G'day, fellow adventurers and nomadic enthusiasts!

If you're one to embrace the call of the open road, relishing in the subtle hum of tires gliding over asphalt and the promise of new horizons, then you've got it made. Caravan holidays in Australia are more popular than ever, and offer a great opportunity for those who prefer a roof to canvas over their heads.

In the aftermath of the whirlwind that was COVID-19, travel has rekindled its allure. And despite Australia having suffered the woes of a difficult economic climate there has been a silver lining. Caravan holidays continue to increase in popularity with no sign of slowing down. Camps Australia Wide have over 2300 verified verified caravan-friendly sites on their site, and the list keeps growing.

Aussies have rekindled their love affair with these roving homes on wheels, turning the economic challenges into an opportunity to embrace a new, adventurous way to explore our sunburnt country.

Now, let's talk about caravans versus tent camping. Picture this: you're nestled in your cozy caravan bed while the rain taps a gentle melody on the roof. Meanwhile, your tent-dwelling mate is trying to prevent a small river from flowing through their humble abode. Caravans offer the luxury of a 'home away from home,' sparing you from weather-related woes, while our tent-bound friends are mastering the art of 'camping with a moat.'

In The Australian Camping Club we say, "To each their own," but we're certainly fans of staying dry and snug.

Caravans also come with the convenience of a portable kitchen, as well as many of the other advantages we are used to at home. No more precarious stove balancing acts or culinary experiments gone wrong; you can whip up a gourmet meal in the comfort of your own kitchenette while watching the TV if that's your thing.

But beyond the practical comforts, caravan camping is about embracing the spirit of adventure without compromising on the essentials.

And here's something I've noticed at various campsites I've visited: caravan campers have a knack for sparking unexpected friendships. You might find yourself discussing your latest road adventures with a fellow traveller over a cuppa, bonding over your shared love for free-spirited exploration. Who knows, you might even find your next travel buddy to conquer the vast Aussie outback.

In this blog, we're setting out on an odyssey across the diverse terrains of Australia, highlighting 15 of our favourite caravan friendly campsites. Just click on the venue title to check out the site and book a spot. Also click HERE for a look at Caravan Parks 6. A list of over 2300 caravan park nation wide.
